Who We Are
Fork to Farm since 2016
Established by husband & wife duo Ryan Green & Adrienne Huckabone. After working in high density composting, the arts and agriculture, we decided to bring our skills back home to give this little business idea a go!
Adrienne is a Bozeman girl through and through. After growing up in the valley, she moved away and brought us back.
She’s our creative direction, operations manager and everything in between. You may see her at the farmers markets, driving the routes, and washing buckets big and small.
Ryan is our Lead Composter for good reason! He has worked in sustainable agriculture & compost in rural Maine, high density compost in NYC, and now here!
He has worked in all levels of the food waste cycle, from kitchens, to farming, to composting.
You can find Ryan running the show day & night. Whether he’s hauling our commercial buckets, turning piles in our compost yard, or managing our next move, Ryan is hard at work for healthy soil.
Our Process:
We pick up and process food waste in Gallatin & Park County. Currently composting approximately 30,000 pounds of food waste each week.
After we have collected the scraps, they are mixed with wood chips from local landscapers, tree care and wood shops.
We use an aerated static pile system from Sustainable Generations, another Montana & MSU legacy company. It helps us maintain optimal temperatures and timelines even on the coldest winter days.
After about 8 weeks, our compost is set out to cure and it goes back to our subscribers and to local farms!
Our focus is to support local soil health and close the local food system, so we make sure we have the highest quality compost available.
We help divert compost from events: From weddings to farmer’s markets, no event is too large or too small!
